Story one:
Jason, from Boston, hooks the desktop computer to his new LCD TV in the living room so he can play video games and watch computer videos on the flat screen TV. The problem is since he is no longer sitting in front of the computer desk any more, there seems nowhere to hold the wireless keyboard and the mouse. Jason figures a small desk suited for a sofa in living room to hold a keyboard and a mouse will just do the job. He has searched all the furniture stores he can find but no luck. He then describes his idea on GoTotheMars to see if anyone can help him. Ulf, a carpenter in Sweden, comes across with Jason's idea and contacts him that if Jason can provide some specifications of this desk he may be able to make one for him. Jason later realizes he may not be the only one who will find this small desk useful. He lays down some features he would like for such a desk and creates a project for this idea. With a little more search on the GoTotheMars he finds Nancy, a furniture designer living in Florida. Jason starts to communicate with Nancy and then invites her to join the project. So what's next? Jason can pay Nancy to design the desk and Ulf to make one. Or they together can patent the design, or sell the design to IKEA. It's totally up to them and everyone gets credit based on their contribution to the project. Well, I admit that I describe it in a quite dramatic way. Jason may very well be able to get all of this done in Boston. GoTotheMars, however, will lift the geographical limits to help people find what they need quickly across the borders and oceans, as a result, to bring global talents together based on their common interest.

Story two:
Sean, a veteran video game player and a graphic designer, got a great idea for a mobile game. He posts his idea on GoTotheMars to see if he can find a mobile app developer to make this game with him. Having talked to more than a dozen of people online, Sean meets with Henry, an enthusiastic programmer. Henry finds Sean's idea very interesting. Over the next few weeks, they build mutual trust with each other and become good friends . Henry decides to develop this mobile game with Sean. Obviously Henry will be responsible for the programming and Sean will take care of the graphic design part. While they are talking about the various designs and the features of the game, Sean's girlfriend, Elaine, an active online fashion retailer, keeps bugging him to go shopping with her. When Sean complains to Henry about his shopping obligation and how he doesn't even want to do his own shopping, Henry remembers his sister, Naomi, a department store manager, once tells him that there is business out there that helps men choose clothing. But that business aims high end customers. Just like Sean, Henry is not a fan of shopping either and he instantly realizes a mobile app that helps men pick out clothing may be quite useful. Henry discusses his idea with Naomi and Sean, and Elaine later joins the discussion. It seems a good idea worth further exploring. Now Sean and Henry have two potential projects: a mobile game or a mobile app to help men pick out clothing. And for the second project they certainly have access to good professional opinion from Elaine and Naomi. Well, this is all hypothetical so I don't even want to predict what's going to happen next. But it is very well possible that how things may get started and evolved.

Story three:
Wendy, a city girl with a full time job, dreamt to open a coffee house. However she didn't have enough capital to do so. She posted her idea online to see if anyone else would like to join the venture with her. Surprisingly, a few dozens of people responded to Wendy's invitation. Finally a group of eighty people met offline to discuss the possibility of forming a company to run a coffee house with everyone only contributing a small amount of capital. They started to have regular meetings over the next few months and built mutual trust. They discussed what type of the company to be established, the operating agreement, rights and obligations of the shareholders, the limits of capital contribution from each shareholder and elected the board of directors. Wendy was elected as chairman of the board and appointed as the CEO. A few others among the shareholders were assigned with key tasks such as securing a location for the business, interior design of the coffee house, marketing campaigns, menu design. Every shareholder was somehow involved in the preparation process. Another few months later, they hired a manager and a few waiters, the coffee house was in business. This story is not hypothetical. The coffee house is located at Chaoyang District of Beijing, China and it's so called Our Cafe. All owners of the coffee house either have full time jobs or are full time students. Well, running a coffee house in Beijing is a tough business. Having another full time job is not making it any easier. What are they trying to achieve? To make money, to have some fun, or to have some business experience? That's the question for Wendy and her partners to figure out. What we have seen here is a different type of crowdfunding and a creative idea actually becoming reality in a decentralized and self-organized manner, and now spreading over the cities through China. By the way, two of the owners fell in love with each other and in a sweet relationship now.

Finally, I want to say where we will be tomorrow depends on where we are today which in turn depends on where we were yesterday. Let's start the journey to take actions on our creativity, step by step and everyday moving forward a little bit.
